This tool checks whether observers received your MeshCore test message. Selecting observers does not transmit a radio message.
Optional device location
Location is requested only when you choose Use my location and your browser permits it. We request fresh, high-accuracy readings for up to 12 seconds, keeping the most accurate estimate, but your browser may use GPS, Wi-Fi or network estimates. The displayed accuracy is a browser estimate, not a guarantee of GPS accuracy or radio coverage.
Device coordinates are held transiently in browser memory to rank nearby observers and show the chosen point as a blue map dot. Coarse or unknown accuracy requires explicit acceptance or a map-center choice. The chosen point is cleared when the nearby selection is cleared or the page is left. The app does not send those coordinates to its backend or save them in browser storage. Only selected observer public keys are sent when creating a test session. Your selection can still suggest an approximate area.
If location is denied, unavailable or times out, the app clearly labels its map-center fallback. Nearby and manual choices are temporary: reloading restores the website defaults.
Observer and session data
The server receives observer information and test traffic through its configured MQTT feed. Observer names, public keys, reported coordinates and activity may be retained. Test sessions, selected observers, receipt timing and results may be stored so shared result links continue to work. Anyone with a share link may view its results. Retention periods are configured by the operator.
Browser storage and verification
The browser stores session history and interface preferences and may cache app assets for installation. Clearing this site's browser data removes that local state, not server-retained shared results. When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile verifies visitors and the server sets a verification cookie.
Network requests and third parties
The server and any hosting proxy receive normal connection information such as your IP address. Dark maps fetch styles, tiles, sprites and fonts from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org), or raster tiles from CARTO if configured. Light maps and vector-rendering fallbacks fetch OpenStreetMap tiles. These providers receive your IP address and requested map areas; CARTO tile requests also send this site's origin for key authorization, but never the page path or query string. External map resources are not cached by the app's service worker. The app does not center the map on your precise device position, but selected observers and visible map areas may reveal an approximate location. When enabled, Turnstile also contacts Cloudflare.
For deployment-specific logging, retention or deletion questions, contact the operator of this website. Avoid putting sensitive information into test messages.
